I wrote two prior RSS feed aggregator apps a few years ago, based on Electron, for my own personal use (https://github.com/Dotnaught/rssputin) and earlier this year I decided to see whether the concept would work as a hosted app.

Going with a multiuser system seemed to point toward more social features and the project has evolved into a combination of news aggregation site, personal news tracker, and social publishing service.
