Remove revenue tax on Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript and Go based apps

1•pcvetkovski•47m ago
If you can’t answer the question below, skip this post.

What’s the revenue tax that you are paying?

Hint: Revenue tax is a % charge levied by payments processors like Stripe, subscription services like RevenueCat, etc.

Orca is the backend monetization orchestration infrastructure we’ve built at Maxint to help us process subscriptions on any platform (iOS, Android, MacOS, Linux, Windows and Web).

Apple StoreKit was sufficient when we launched Maxint on iOS, however the launch of our Android app was constrained by Google Play Billing which required us to define the same subscription plans, entitlements and consumables, as well as to implement server side receipt validation to avoid double charges whenever a user attempts to access from a different platform than where they purchased their subscription.

We tested RevenueCat, Adapty and a dozen other subscription tools, with limited success on iOS and Android, or maybe Web. However, as we were determined to make Maxint available for any user on any platform, including desktop, we knew that we would need to build a way to handle payments across all platforms.

The result was Orca, a monetization orchestration platform supporting all major operating systems. Initially, it was rolled out with support for Flutter (Dart) only, critical for Maxint.

Today, we are announcing support for Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript (web and server) and Go (server). Available at infrastructure cost, eliminating the revenue tax exercised by RevenueCat and the rest of the subscription services.
