This is an Omarchy hazing ritual. The installer shouldn't break because it can't download an updated dependency. Distros have been including these packages in the base installation image for decades now, and Omarchy should too. Just another lesson learned the hard way, I guess.

Linux setup was never a hazing ritual. The UNIX community (in the large) did not use humiliation and pain. It was tough, but that was mostly because the developers didn't invest as much energy into making it easy to install, because the target audience was quite savvy, and so most of the effort went into improving functionality, not ease of use.
