FTA: “Jolla has sold 15,000 units of its phone as of August 2026 just by taking pre-orders for production batches from its web site, and it probably could have sold far more units if it had paid for advertising, expanded beyond the European market, and kept the phone in stock, so customers didn’t have to wait months for the next production batch. Clearly, there is an untapped market of people who are dissatisfied with the reigning Android/iOS duopoly.”

Clearly, yes, but I doubt it’s large enough to reach economies of scale, by a wide margin; for comparison: Apple easily sells 15,000 phones each hour.
