In the world AI, will individual apps become obsolete?

1•modus73•55m ago
Will users need a travel app, shopping app, and other specialize research apps? Or will they just pick their favorite ChatGPT or Gemini and use that?

That's my opinion too. You talk to your AI assistant for everything anyway, it just needs the tools to structurally execute the things you want. The new apps will be the MCP servers.

PS: I wanted to replace all my tracking apps and built dashly.si, it is a dumb visualization tool where brain is still your AI assistant.

So banking apps will be obsolete, because AI.

You are in a bubble.

This will only work if tokens are close to free or you can run close to frontier models on your own hardware.

Also, prompting is like using the command line to some degree. Most people need something visual.
