People also ask me if they should get a CS education. My answer has always been a firm NO. People should strive for higher education in something else and they can teach themselves programming at the same time. I am self-taught.

As a better example consider an art degree. A fine arts education does not teach people how to become an artist. Practice teaches how to produce art. An art degree teaches people about art so that they can understand it for a variety of other reasons.

Is there value in a CS degree? It depends entirely upon the student, but even the answer is still typically a resounding NO. The principal business of software is employment: recruitment and talent acquisition. So long as that remains true and CS education remains a non requirement there is little reason to spend money on something you could teach yourself.

Perhaps study the fields that are cs-adjacent as these might be positioned to expand when coding ceases to be a limitation? Biotech/pharma, engineering disciplines, these rely on modeling and data management tools whose improvement would be a win. Developers with discipline-specific knowledge are quite useful.
