Arc Browser (my browser for 5-6 years straight) shuts down soon with basically no similar alternatives offering the same UX. There are many Chromium forks out there but they mostly keep adding AI to a browser that does not need it (in Dia, you cannot even turn off AI) or are buggy with bad UX.
So directed a bunch of agents into Arc to try and copy Arc as a seperate app locally, blocking Browser Company servers and cloud storage.
It copies the Arc.app you have on Mac and your Arc data into ~/Applications/ArtBrowser.app. There is a small launcher and an inject library turning off sync and updates blocking requests from BrowserCo. Your original Arc is not changed. The repo has no Arc code or binaries.
curl -fsSL https://arcreborn.cool.computer/install-artbrowser.sh | bash. Read the script first if you like. It's plain text, it uploads nothing, and the only thing it downloads is the 1.9 MB launcher, checked against a SHA-256 in the script. --uninstall removes it again.
If anything is off, not secure or not working, feel free to make contributions!
