Ask HN: Credit card and loyalty analytics, where to start?

2•scipio1551•39m ago
I inherited responsibilities for creating credit card and loyalty analytics reporting/dashboarding for a firm that processes roughly $750M in monthly transactions.

There hasn't been any large scale analytical or statistical review of this data and my main focus now is understanding the data, but also trying to design reporting.

At this volume, what specific data points or low-hanging fruit can drive real commercial value? And what education or learning can I take to succeed? I'm coming from the benefits world, so this is very new.

For loyalty: is it similar to benefits? Demographic based?

Are there essential domain resources, whitepapers, or case studies you'd recommend for getting up to speed on these two domains?

Snowflake databases, M365 shop, although I have prior exposure to other enterprise tools and don't mind building the business case to get licenses if value add.
