This is an early release for testing.

The project has come back to life. The infrastructure has been modernized. We have new CI builds via GitHub Actions and a new CMake build system. Future updates and contributions will be much easier now.

Stay tuned as we're working on a PyPI release. We need more testing, especially on macOS.
