Fun, found myself going over the poles more than I expected.
tromp•1d ago
It's funny how the snake slows down when circling the poles to keep a constant rotational speed of Earth.

A missed opportunity naming this SnekTrek.
zevv•1d ago
Or Snake on a Plane!
gjm11•1d ago
Well, the whole point is that it isn't a [censored] snake on a [censored] plane, and I think the title is already a pretty clear allusion to SoaP as it is.

I had fun, this is a nice idea. Would be great to expand this with a custom link that contains a list of places, with appropriate zooming, for school kids and teachers.
amadeuspagel•1d ago
Fun idea. I think there's more potential in games played on real maps.

Here’s a demoscene prod from 2013 that executes a similar idea in 4 kilobytes https://m.pouet.net/prod.php?which=61035

Bug report: the snake becomes shorter near the poles.
jdubya859•1d ago
Awesome game! Great concept.

I love how this makes a metaphor for global capitalism.

Roam around the planet gobbling up resources and growing larger, until you ironically screw yourself.
