When I click on a link like this, I expect to see a massive high res image of a 3D-printed living lung tissue.
mwambua•6mo ago
Heavy emphasis on the tissue in lung tissue: https://analyticalsciencejournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/do...
ls-a•6mo ago
Still not high res enough to see the "complex three-dimensional (3D) vascularized tri-culture airway model".
mwambua•6mo ago
Fair enough. I was hoping for more detailed photos too.

The humanity desperately need more of bio research. Currently, the biggest problem with artificial cells is the immune attack. It can be solved with CRISPR gene editing technique, but it's still work in progress. The humanity is unfortunately still not there yet. We absolutely need to invest more money, time and effort into solving the issue of replacing damaged human tissue and organs with an artificial replacement.
Jimmc414•6mo ago
Is it a good thing to test drugs intended for humans on 3D printed tissues?
ethan_smith•6mo ago
Yes - 3D printed human tissues can provide more physiologically relevant drug responses than animal models while reducing ethical concerns and potentially increasing predictive accuracy for human outcomes.
