Anything that gets these huge tech companies to spend some of the money they've been sucking up and sitting on for decades (other than sending it to Nvidia) is good. Building physical infrastructure is one thing that still employs real people and has benefits all the way up the physical goods supply chains.

This is exactly my thoughts as well. The nuclear power will still be useful long after the compute needs have evaporated.

I'm 50/50 on this...Because on one side, i'm happy to see more innovation, or if not innovation, at least some progress on energy industry in this form. But, on the other side, i tend to - maybe sometimes unfairly - feel really pessimistic once i hear that Amazon is involved. Like, whatever eggs need to be broken for making the omelette are just not worth it in the long run. But, maybe this is "Pessimistic Friday" for me. ;-)
TheSoftwareGuy•3mo ago
Huh. I'm pleasantly surprised about this. Maybe there will be a long-lasting positive outcome from all this AI stuff after all
michael1999•3mo ago
That's great press, but I'll wait until the design is finished and licensed before I get excited.

But it is looking good!
