Dupe, yesterday: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46125534

So now AI model valuation is at 560 billion (OpenAI), 350 billion (Anthropic), 350 billion (say 10% of Google), 350 billion (10% of MSFT), 160 billion (10% of Meta/FB), 100 billion (decent chunk of Oracle, trying to get their cloud off the ground), or a total of 1870, let's round up to 1800 billion to count the rest, or 1.8 trillion dollars.

So for comparison 60% of Google's total valuation with 16 billion of revenue, or about 2% of Google's revenue.

Or close to the value of Meta/FB with less than 10% of FB revenue.

The value in this is supposedly in replacing people and to justify this it would need to get the same as about 16 million full-time jobs or more than 20% of all jobs in the US. And that's assuming employers pay the same, so one should double, or 10x that.

Or put another way a forward valuation of close to 1000 times revenue, AND that would need to go to these companies. And they probably have less than a year to at least convince people this is going to happen.

This is going to be such an incredible disaster ...

Also assumes there will be no competition.
