Skapa, a parametric 3D printing app like an IKEA manual (2025)

FYI, the Swedish verb for "to create" is "skapa," not "skåpa."

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/swedish-english/...

Suggest you use the correct word for the name of the app.

kaffekaka•1w ago
You are right of course. But "skåp" means cabinet so "skåpa" could be understood as "build a cabinet", for those who enjoy that kind of pun.
retSava•1w ago
To add and not nitpick, but to add the 'a' to the subjective, we make a verb out of it. But it's not immediately obvious what that means, could also be "to put in a cabinet" (which would be my interpretation). Languages are fun :)
kaffekaka•6d ago
Ah yes, skåpa would be a made up verb indeed.

Just fyi that Skapa is already the IKEA design system used to harmonize their design across platforms and websites:

i could see hooks (to hang wrenches for example) as an additional part, also plate (that one could for example glue corkboard on and then be able to pin notes)

great work!
