Reason: WTF, Wired, I'm reading, I accidentally close the tab, but reopening leads to "You’ve read your last free article"? No, I didn't read any more articles than before, it's the same damn one! I can imagine such a bug leading to false metrics and then bad decisions, ex: "Wow, virtually every visitor tries to read multiple articles each time, demand for subscriptions must be huge!"

TLDR:

1. People lawfully protest the federal government government.

2. Government starts surveilling them, recording names, license plates, facial-scans.

3. They sue the government for violating their First Amendment rights.

4. Government tells court that it needs to be given anything the protestors might have privately written that criticizes the government...

> “You shouldn’t have to give up that First Amendment right to expressive association if you need to sue to protect your First Amendment rights,” says Adam Steinbaugh, a senior attorney at FIRE, a nonprofit civil liberties group.
