The README is now full of ads, lots of nonsense on the page just to reach the text and on top of that, it is now written by Claude.

I don't know about anybody else, but IMO it's far superior to ask for donations after delivering value rather than before. That way maybe someone who likes the content can donate once satisfied, rather than deciding "no" in advance.

This is likely the reason why they do this and now vibecoding makes it easy for anyone to do this.
Open source maintainers shouldn’t have to register their projects as trademarks/proactively register domains to avoid this, but that seems like the only strategy?
