Show HN: Figment – An AI that I made my friends talk to for 2 weeks

https://figment.computer/

For the past 3 weeks, I've been hacking on a personal AI that you can text.

It's curious about you & proactively figures out ways to help you, while still feeling like a friend.

Its personality & proactivity is probably what I've spent the most time working on for this project, testing out a bunch of different models and prompts etc. It has more work to be done for sure, but I kinda like how it's come to be so far!

It has its own 24/7 computer and browser (still working on improving its use of them!), with its own curiosities & proactivity.

For ex, it might decide to surf the web on its own every once in a while, and if it comes across anything that it feels might be interesting to you, it'll text you it.

In the past 2 weeks of my friends using it, I've noticed this particular personal ai setup/harness produce a ton of emergent magical moments that I thought were pretty cool.

For ex, my roommate @aadilpickle signed up 2 weeks ago, told it about sfpursuit.org and his sfalexandria.com project during the onboarding, and then didn't use it much, but after like 3 days, it proactively surfed through these sites, did deeper research into his past work, and texted him asking about his `hamburger phone at flippin burger` project that he once worked on with some friends, which was really cool. he felt that to be really magical and he's been using it since then (mostly for reminders etc). :)

This project is in a very rough/early state, but i'd definitely really love some feedback! :)

I also created a Discord community for this: https://discord.gg/8dGBGg6rXu
