Most commercial "what is my IP" sites have become heavily monetized—they are slow, packed with tracking scripts, and rely on a single geolocation database that is often stale or inaccurate.
I wanted a fast, privacy-respecting tool for my own daily use to verify VPN/proxy routes, so I built My-IP-Info.
What it does:
- Queries multiple independent providers (Cloudflare, IPify, IP.SB, etc.) in parallel to highlight discrepancies in reported location and ASN.
- WebRTC STUN candidate inspection: Detects exposed local LAN interfaces and dual-stack (IPv4 & IPv6) reflexive WAN addresses.
- DNS leak detection: Resolves non-cached subdomains via parallel queries to uncover your actual upstream recursive resolvers and detect proxy bypasses.
- CLI-friendly: `curl https://my-ip-info.ii2d-dev.workers.dev` automatically negotiates plain text for terminal agents, with JSON/YAML query overrides.
- Zero analytics, no third-party cookies, and installable as a lightweight PWA.
Architecture & Stack:
- Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Leaflet.
- Edge: Cloudflare Worker using Hono. It serves static assets through env.ASSETS while handling the API layer under a single origin.
- 100% automated test coverage across server routing, IP parsing, and bogon subnet filtering.
