Recently, I got really frustrated with the number of 20-30 Claude Code and Codex tabs I had opened at all time. Constantly trying to locate old sessions where I was exploring a topic or running an analysis.
So I built Cockpit.
Cockpit treats AI sessions as files that you can open, organize and search. This has become the one tool for all my AI-powered work (so most of my work in fact) at Big Tech. It just sits on top of my existing sessions and can start new ones. I (almost) haven't touched a terminal since. After a week or so, it starts to look like what IDEs should become when code is no longer the most important asset. No login, no data sent to the cloud. everything stays on your Mac (besides your Claude code and Codex API calls of course).
Try it out! it's Fast (built in rust), free and probably buggy :D. Would love some feedback and some ideas to make it better.
