Anthropic just wrote about building in-house source control after going from 2,500 to 30,000+ merges a day, so I had Claude build an open-source version. On a 100k-file monorepo vs git: sparse checkout is 12x faster, concurrent land throughput is 82x higher, grep is 29x faster with no clone needed, and storage is smaller than git gc --aggressive.
