Show HN: Standard Topic – An AI and RSS-powered news and resource platform

https://www.standardtopic.com/
3•johnchoud•3h ago
Hi HN,

I'm John, a knowledge management and AI enablement professional. I created Standard Topic, an AI and RSS-powered news and resource platform, with assistance from Claude Code.

Standard Topic uses AI integrations and RSS feeds to curate news and resources across relevant topics and presents these in the form of top stories, trending items, and a curated prompt library to easily gather further context on a given topic (examples of topics being World News, Politics, Business, Technology, Sports, Science, Health and more.)

On topic hubs, you can find a regularly updated at-a-glance AI briefings providing relevant updates, top stories with AI insights and cited sources, and additional recent news coverage. A governance system is in place with AI assisting in ranking stories, retiring items from the top stories section, determining which additional news is displayed, and more.

An AI-generated briefing podcast, in the format of a radio news program, releases each morning and evening (5 AM and 5 PM ET), covering the latest global news.

While in the past I've released apps and websites that felt duct-taped together and which I stopped using after some time, with this one I've actually found myself using it more than Twitter/X and other daily news briefing platforms, while also leading me to more frequently engage directly with publishing platforms cited on Standard Topic.

My recent work in AI has been around finding practical uses in the content and knowledge management areas for integrating the technology, and Standard Topic has developed into what I see as a product that uses structured outputs and automated insights to deliver consistent and trustworthy, cited content while maintaining transparency about being primarily powered by artificial intelligence.

There's still some kinks to work out in terms of automated workflows, design aspects and more.

Let me know what you think!
