Hi HackerNews,

My name is Matija, and I'm building ranwhat.com. It's used for checking if any of your secrets have leaked, and where they leaked. It's mostly aimed at solo devs such as myself, but also at anyone using a coding agent. The tool also checks if your coding agent ran any sketchy commands. This is mostly a "better safe than sorry" feature, so you can tell your Claude or Codex not to run them.

The project is open source (MIT) and everything runs locally on your machine.

How to install it: pip install ranwhat / uv tool install ranwhat, or brew install MatijaMiki/ranwhat/ranwhat

There is a free and a paid plan. Everything local is free; the paid plan is 12€ a month and adds server-side features, which you can read more about here: https://ranwhat.com/pricing

All I'm asking for here is feedback, and if you have anything you would want added to the project.

Looking forward to answering any questions you have.

Best, Matija
