We’ve been building an AI emotional support tool called Matchya, and we just launched it today. The idea came from noticing that a lot of mental health tools either feel too clinical or too passive. We wanted something that lets people actually talk things through whenever they need it.
What it does:
- Voice-based emotional support (talk through problems in real time)
- Text mode for people who prefer typing
- Session insights + weekly goals
- Long-term memory so conversations don’t reset each time
- Available 24/7, no scheduling
- Privacy controls including one-click data deletion
It’s not a replacement for professional care — just a tool for people who want someone to talk through their thinking with and get clearer on what’s going on internally.
Why we built it:
A lot of people deal with stress or tough moments outside of therapy hours. We wanted something that feels immediate, conversational, and reflective rather than generic chatbot answers.
Looking for feedback:
HN feedback is usually brutally honest but very helpful, so I'm mainly looking to understand:
- Accuracy and usefulness of the reflections
- Edge cases where the model fails
- Whether the memory system feels helpful or intrusive
