the California autonomous vehicle regulations should be celebrated, they are detailed, seemingly ridiculously effective: the cars under test seem to be really safe, and we also did indeed invent autonomous vehicles. but i feel like that narrative is hard to reconcile with a general superrich sentiment to oppose regulation, whatever that means. or at least until its their own kids getting mowed down by idiot, uninsured drivers.
