I don't agree that he may enjoy it but I admire Tim even more for doing this, where Apple and the world needs him the most IMO.

I'd be curious to hear why? Cook is a stooge, he's not going there to promote privacy, human rights, or admonish China's threat to Taiwan. Much like Musk and Huang, Cook's job is to support the Trump admin's ideology and suggest financial incentives to deescalate the tariff war the US imposed.

It's hard for me to see what's respectable about that. Cook is part of the clean-up crew for a self inflicted economic wound that he himself advocated against: https://www.forbes.com/sites/andrewleahey/2025/08/14/behold-...
