andy_ppp•2mo ago
Very cool, is it possible to add voting for multiple dates too?
orbanlevi•2mo ago
Right now nope, but I'm planning to add new features.
thedangler•2mo ago
API, Please make an API? I could integrate my RSVP system into it which requires more specific features but could use this to create the base for the event.
orbanlevi•2mo ago
You need an API for creating events?
macintux•2mo ago
Not the person who asked for it, but I think they were suggesting they'd use the API to retrieve information about RSVPs/current state of a planned event. (Perhaps even RSVP on someone else's behalf.)
thedangler•2mo ago
Yes, I would piggyback on to the base event which would be created, which would allow me to build out my extra features which need a base event.

API's are always a good thing, weather they are private or not.

righthand•2mo ago
This is cool looking but you should note in the front page that it has ical, et al. calendar features.
orbanlevi•2mo ago
Thanks for the feedback.
mrtesthah•2mo ago
How does it compare to Mobilizon?
orbanlevi•2mo ago
It's similar, but not that good as Mobilizon, Im focusing on simplicity with an improved UI and experience.

I'm assuming easier to spin up a new instance on your own, but this is my personal opinion.

rapnie•2mo ago
Do you have plans for adding ActivityPub support in the future? That would be very cool, and having interop with these other FOSS projects will help give things network effects.
james-bcn•2mo ago
Mobilizon looks interesting but their docs results in a 404, which doesn't inspire confidence.
verdverm•2mo ago
Smoke Signal has a similar system on ATProto (no affiliation)

I believe this is the project that has the Rust code (on the GitHub of ATProto)

@smokesignal.events/acudo at main · tangled https://share.google/HG59BdzeJpib7fw5x

orbanlevi•2mo ago
Ohh nice! I'll look into it.
dbjacobs•2mo ago
Any plans to add the ability to have waiver/release forms for an event that need to be signed?
orbanlevi•2mo ago
I didn’t think of that.
macintux•2mo ago
How do you plan on handling the influx of garbage? I like the idea, but I’m inclined to think registration of event organizers would be necessary to control the spam.
orbanlevi•2mo ago
Yea something like that would be necessary in the long run, or just use the event creation cookie user to moderate the rsvps. (or you can create private events)
nrhrjrjrjtntbt•2mo ago
How does federated social already handle spam? just use that. I guess specific servers can ban.
roshannarma•2mo ago
This is super cool, going to try using this for an event this week and self-host a server if it works nicely, have been looking for a privacy-first version of Partiful for a while.
james-bcn•2mo ago
Needs the ability to have a waitlist.
orbanlevi•2mo ago
Noted.
atulvi•2mo ago
There are several offensively titled events. No moderation whatsoever. This is likely 100% vibe coded in a day.
orbanlevi•2mo ago
Ofc, don’t have to moderate every randomly submitted event, but I am planning to add a moderation page to delete or filter offensive events.
rpearce9•2mo ago
I quite like this, have just spun up a quick self hosted instance to play with.

I'm wondering though - after creating an event, how does one see the list of who has RSVPd to attend? I can't seem to find any way to see this info.

orbanlevi•2mo ago
In the detailed page of the event, there is the rsvp list.
matteohorvath•2mo ago
do you plan to put selling tickets into it?
hacb•2mo ago
Any plan for supporting different timezones?
zestyping•2mo ago
Please, consider a better name. It's really hard to promote something with a name that no one can pronounce or spell.
