I read the title and thought this was going to be about organizing your cat o’nine tails or what have you.
thayne•2mo ago
I had a somewhat similar thought, I thought it was for organizing leatherworking tools. Which, I suppose you could use this for...
Isamu•2mo ago
Yeah me too I was stoked for a moment. But I guess I’m in maker mode right now.
PunchyHamster•2mo ago
It's a cool idea but tools are not compressed nearly enough; look into how maxpedition organizer does it https://www.maxpedition.com/cdn/shop/files/0246B_a07_4a2d1c0...

it essentially have "a strap on a strap" (and a pouch behind it), which means tools can be interleaved in position, leaving far smaller gap between the tools while still giving each one its own mounting.

wildzzz•2mo ago
These things look cool but, as someone that's been gifted many leather thing holders, they take up so much extra space. The fabric bag with the elastic strap someone else commented about is perfect, you can jam it full of shit and it takes up the same space.
metalman•2mo ago
I prefer a tool bag or box, with the razor sharp stuff in leather sheaths, and a leather tool belt and/or pouch that can be equiped for specifc jobs.Specialists who know exactly what they will need, may have an on body kit which has evolved to the point that they reach for stuff without looking, but then, there are always contingencies for which the only answer is a creative solution. The rest is just play, we all do it, have fun is the main thing.
nom•2mo ago
Makes me want to try some leather work, seems simple enough to do with the right tools.
