I honestly don't think it's pessimistic to predict war. We live in a world where various cultures have incompatible values at a fundamental level that include valuing the extinction of other cultures. If they never go to war it means that one or the other side wins and the values of the other side are effectively suppressed. To me the possibility of war is less bad than permanent oppression or extinction. It would mean the end of the evolution of human values that are worth dying for. That version of humanity is nerfed beyond the ability of ability to persist across the changes the future will bring.

War is as evil as death, but death was necessary to our creation, and ending death would cripple human adaptation and doom the species. Without a willingness to fight for our beliefs we would be evolutionary cannon fodder.

"Key funding agencies include USAID, SIDA, the World Bank, WHO, IFAD, and GiveWell."

So its backed by an as NGO as NGO can get, swampy as swamp can get, USAID funded, world meddling, money funneling, organization.

This seems to rest on the assumption that war is some sort of bottom-up emergent phenomenon? If they're looking for high impact, shouldn't they be targeting leadership?

As long as powerful people profit from war, humanity will never be free of its curse. Those who engineer war will ensure the world is traumatized by the horror, generation after generation; so that nations, governments and politicians are subservient to their bottomless greed.

The proposed plan for peace has an enormous blind spot: look up. The demons harvest their wealth and power from cultivating this hell on earth. Look at them, preparing another world war, a blood bath and slaughter of sacrificial lambs. It is no accident that the etymology of the word "holocaust" is a ritual animal sacrifice in fire, an offering to the gods of the underworld. War is human sacrifice for the rulers, old men who declare that the youth must fight and die.

The problem with war is that you might not want it, but it’s enough if somebody else does. What sort of diplomatic magic was there do you think to have stopped Hitler in late 1930s? Let him rebuild industry and military? Allow him to cease the payment of reparations? Meet with him in person and treat him as a sane person? Give him Austria? Give him Poland? Well, Europe did all of that and he still went after France, Great Britain and Russia. And he wasn’t rational too and it was very likely he would fail. What about Putin? He got Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea, most of Donbass, not to even say much of billions in trade, and he still went after the whole of Ukraine. The thing about tyrants and bullies is that the only thing they understand and respect is strength in form of kinetic force delivered as a fist to their face or explosives to their forces.
