I expected some deeper delving into the story but it just kind of rambles for a bit and ends, like an LLM wrote it.

Vice Media is in economic collapse so I wouldn't be surprised.

The original 404 media story this badly written vice article is click baiting with is better.

Ironic as I think the founders of 404 came from vice

> But if you ask ChatGPT or any of the other popular large language models to tell you a story, there’s a good chance he’ll appear, unbidden.

Is this something that people do?

mingus88•1d ago
We live in a world where people are having relationships with, taking drug advice from, and even getting married to AI chat bots

Asking one to tell you a story is table stakes.

One of my first experiments with ChatGPT was prompting it to tell me a story that was Hogwarts but the houses were mob families from the Sopranos and the spells were slang like gabagool. It was pretty mind blowing at the time how detailed it was with such a basic prompt.

Pretty obvious it was trained in copyrighted material and just vaguely recycling it back.

You can just say "screenwriter" and yes this is a valid job. Not anyone's fault the kids want to hear the same story every night

It's just another reincarnation of Count Grey, also known as Elara Voss, also known as mode collapse.

This is kind of the plot of Detroit: Become Human.
