Show HN: Validate your idea, know what to charge, and how to get first users

I made an idea validation tool that can quickly adjust or kill off weak ideas.

The big difference between Nell and any other validation tool is it compares your idea with real passed and failed examples, calculates TAM, overall buying sentiment, and 14 more important pointers that VCs value. It then also creates the most confident go to market plans to get initial users.

My goal with Nell is to compress the research that takes more than a month into a few minutes so that early stage founders can spend time on polishing, preparing strong investor pitches, and executing GTM.

How it works: Once you’re in. Just paste your idea and you will get a 14+ pointer diligence report having - validation of the problem you are trying to solve, funding potential based on past similar ventures, demand signals, willingness to pay, pricing research, market size, revenue ceiling, and other critical metrics.

Please check it out and feel free to run a validation test on your idea. I will really appreciate feedback from the HN community. Live tool: https://nellailabs.ai

I have used multiple idea validation tools in the past. Most of them are not really good, especially the free ones. Some tools only have paid plans, so I didn't use them.

But to really check how good they are, I use the idea of a failed startup.

I used Fast's idea of one-click checkouts in another idea validator tool, and the tool gave it a really high score, which is not a good sign.

Did the same here, and it gave a score of 38/100 and tagged it a high-risk business, which is a good sign.

And to my surprise, the tool also mentioned Fast as a failed startup, so I think your tool is good.

Bad thing is I can only try one idea in the free tier.

Yes, we have just built it and it is boot strapped. Starting slow so only 1 validation is open to public. But feel free to share your idea here and I will run it directly from backend and share the report here.

Thank you for your feedback though. I encourage you to run a good idea to really see the capability of this.

So I came across another thread on HN about Hive's launching its celebrity voice detection model. I left this comment there which i put through your tool "It would be great if someone can build a model wherein a family can feed voices of their most vulnerable members, and make sure nobody can call any of the family members and scam them. I know it gonna be tough but not impossible. At one point, the world will definitely need such a model/tool.

Here is my take:It scored the idea 52/100.

What I liked: Nell recognised the problem is real and growing, but did not treat that alone as proof of a fundable company. It pointed out that the technical, legal, and distribution questions are still unresolved.

Something that stood out: The most useful part was the recommendation to narrow the idea to one scam type, such as “grandparent scam” calls, choose one distribution channel, and interview 20 families before building.

Where it lacked: It raised a risk: Apple, Google, or telecom carriers could build this directly into call-screening. But i can also sell my solution to these companies. Tbh, if someone builds such a product, they would first like to sell it to telecom service providers.
