Battleship, the almost astoundingly commercially successful board game which I (and likely many other kids) found so incredibly boring that even jazzing it up with an electronic display and sound effects didn't really help.
All kidding aside, the readme has:
> A Bash implementation of the old game Battleships, a simple turn-based game of strategy played originally with pencil and paper, occasionally sold as a plastic or wooden board game, but realised as a computer game in the late '70s.
... What? To my knowledge Battleship wasn't adapted as a computer game until the 90s. There is the electronic battleship game that I referenced earlier which was released in 1977.
I suppose if you want to be super pedantic you could argue that it's computerized in that it used a microprocessor - but that really doesn't fit the accepted definition of a "computer game".
